Venice Holiday Parade
Address Information: Venice Avenue and Harbor Drive, Venice, FL 34285
The Venice Holiday Parade is a family event enjoyed by all. Our small town feel is evident when residents line the sides of the streets with folding chairs for days before the parade. They come back the day of the parade and their chairs are still there. Pre-event festivities include live bands, dance demonstrations, food, fun, and an opportunity to witness the official lighting of the Venice Ave. holiday decorations and Christmas tree.
It is truly heart warming to see small children sitting side by side with the senior citizens, all enjoying the parade. Wide eyed children thrilled as fire trucks, marching bands, and brightly illuminated floats passed by. Manger scenes, huge candy canes, life size snow globes, pirate ships, antique cars, and of course Santa all created a festive tone shared by all. 2015 marked the 40th anniversary of the Venice Holiday Parade.
The parade route starts at W. Venice Ave and Park Blvd. They proceed East crossing Harbor Drive in front of the Main stage continuing East on Venice Ave. in the Westbound lane. When the parade gets to Nokomis Ave, they turn to the South for several more blocks and turn to the West on Turin and terminate at the Venice Community Center.
