About Lakes of Jacaranda

Lake Meredith is 35 acres and one of the many lakes that provide a home to the abundant wildlife and birds. It is very common to see Sandhill Cranes which stand chest high walking leisurely through the community with several babies in tow. Roseate Spoonbills with their broad beak and distinctive pink color have been seen wading the lakes. Even an occasional alligator can be seen floating in the lakes. Osprey periodically swoop down to scoop one of the abundant fish from the lakes for a tasty dinner. J & J Homes built the majority of the homes in the community. The last few remaining lots have homes built by Neal Communities.

Lake of The Woods of Jacaranda, Section I, is the Master Association of which all of the individual neighborhoods belong. It includes 871 homes. Of that, 183 fall under this section alone, 76 fall under Park Estates, Section II, 612 fall under Lakes of Jacaranda Section III. Two neighborhoods under the master association have maintenance free aspects and pay an additional nominal fee. They are Grassy Oaks II, Section IV, and Grassy Oaks, III, Section V. The homeowner association fees in The Lakes of Jacaranda were approximately $646 per year in 2022 and keep the community beautiful. Owners may rent their home for not less than 90 days at a time. Only two rental periods per year are allowed. The Lakes of Jacaranda is extremely dog friendly and homeowners do a great deal more socializing than actual dog walking. Pet owners are required to leash their pets as well as pick up after them.

All of the homes have tile roofs and sturdy block construction. All have either a two or three car garage. Most have open floor plans and many have private swimming pools in their back yards. All of the homes in Lakes of Jacaranda have private wells for irrigation and sprinkler systems. Lawns are lush and green and the landscapes thriving. Lakes of Jacaranda is known for its mature landscaping including stately oaks, Magnolia, and a variety of palm trees. Fire protection and emergency medical services are provided by Sarasota County Fire Department.

Venice Life

Lakes of Jacaranda has everything you may need close by. Gas stations, grocery stores and shopping. Medical Offices and churches are minutes away. I-75 is a five minute drive to make personal and business travel easier and airports are about an hour away. The YMCA is only five minutes away with a state of the art 2-story fitness center and heated pool. Venice Municipal Beach is only seven miles away. Lifeguards are on duty and you can swim, scuba dive, or just suntan. Concessions and rest rooms are available. Diversity is the key when it comes to dining. Within minutes you will find the British Open Pub and Restaurant, Leones Restaurante & Pizza, China One, Outback Steakhouse, and every imaginable chain restaurant. A few more minutes and you can find yourself in downtown Venice where you can enjoy your favorite cuisine in a delightful outdoor cafe. Golfing opportunities are available at Venice Golf and Country Club, Jacaranda West Golf and Country Club and Sarasota National. Venice, Florida has numerous public, semi-private and private golf courses to choose from.

Social Activities

The Lakes of Jacaranda is an active community where residents enjoy a walk on the nature paths, bike ride, walk the dog, or enjoy one of the many year round social events that attracted them to purchase Venice FL real estate. Location and Directions

Take I-75 to Exit 193, Jacaranda Blvd.. Proceed west on Jacaranda Blvd. 2 miles to the round-a-bout. Proceed through the round-a-bout to the opposite side and continue on Jacaranda Blvd. another .5 miles to Center Road. Turn left on Center Road and proceed to Venice East Blvd.. Turn right on Venice East Blvd, proceed 1 mile to Lake of the Woods Drive and turn left into The Lakes of Jacaranda Community. The Clubhouse is located .3 miles on your left.

The Lakes of Jacaranda community clubhouse is available for members use at no charge for birthday parties, weddings, and the like. The community pool is a large rectangular pool, large enough to swim laps or just enjoy a relaxing soak. Residents enjoy the many lounge chairs to soak up some sun and to socialize. One tennis and three pickleball courts are available for residents use.
