Sunstone at Wellen Park

Among this list of varied and luxurious neighborhoods are Sarasota National, Grand Palm, Gran Paradiso, Island Walk, and Boca Royale. These are divided into three districts: West Villages, Downtown, and Playmore.

Sunstone will form part of the Playmore district, just south of Downtown Wellen, near the intersection of West Villages Parkway and Manasota Beach Road. Its neighbors will be Avelina to the north, Wisteria to the west, and Gran Place to the southeast.

Sunstone Real Estate Market

Homes in Wellen Park are typically mid to large sized single-family homes. These homes come in a variety of European styles, blended with a healthy portion of Floridian contemporary sensibilities.

Details range from Mediterranean, with terracotta roof tiles, earthy stucco exteriors, simple window outlines, and stone accents; to more Colonial accents like lap siding and sash windows. Other details are central turrets with low-hipped roofs and corbel accents.

There are also many attached villa style homes in Wellen Park, built along winding streets, cul de sacs, and lakes.

Pools are somewhat common, many enclosed, but not necessary as communal pools are always within a short distance.

Things to Do In & Around Sunstone & Wellen Park

One of the reasons why Wellen Park is one of the most popular developments in the country is because of its many amazing amenities and features.

For example, Sunstone stands to be within minutes of three golf courses: Sarasota National, Boca Royale, and the new one coming south of Manasota Beach Road. All of these are within Wellen Park, promising membership perks and convenient access.

Sunstone will also be within walking distance of downtown Wellen Park, an area that is planned to house a range of boutique shopping and entertainment venues, community amenities and park spaces, and a lake with recreational opportunities.

Across West Villages Parkway, to the northeast, is the CoolToday Ballpark. This ballpark and sports complex hosts many events, concerts, a farmers market, and of course, baseball games, but most notably is the spring training ground of the Atlanta Braves.

A little way north of that is the North Port campus of the State College of Florida, along with various services and conveniences like a grocery store. As for education, other schools in the area are Garden and Taylor Ranch Elementary, and Venice Middle School.

Further afield, residents of Sunstone can enjoy the best that Sarasota County has to offer. Included in this list are the pristine white-sand beaches of Venice, Caspersen, and Manasota Key. Manasota Key especially is a scenic and beautiful barrier island on the Gulf Coast. All of these locations are ideal for beach combing, relaxing, swimming, boating, fishing, and more.

To the east are the Myakka River and Myakka Forest, including vast swathes of preserved nature reserves. To the northeast, residents can access the I-75 Highway, connecting with Tampa to the north and Fort Myers to the south.

These urban centers, along with Venice, are renowned for their arts, culture, shopping, and entertainment opportunities.
