More About Manasota Key Real Estate
Homes for sale in Manasota Key reflect the wide variety in what people imagine for their ideal tropical island getaway.
For many this means life in an ornate and opulent villa, inspired by the finest Spanish-revival and Mediterranean traditions. On these sprawling estates, expect to see vaulted arcades, tall arched entryways, red-tile roofs, and spaces decorated with statues, fountains, and courtyards.
Properties in Manasota Key built from the middle to the end of last century display classic modern lines and design sensibilities. Open interiors with large rear facing patios and glass partitions, low-hipped roofs, and wide ranch-like configurations.
These properties tend to have larger yards, with beautiful green lawns under swaying palms. In all of the above properties, you can expect to find pools, often covered or with luxurious jets.
Manasota Key is known for its more low-key, locals-own atmosphere. This is carried through its real estate market, as the area still has many quaint beach bungalows and cottages tucked away behind the dense vegetation. These charming homes swap cavernous interiors for raise deck areas, longer drives, and affordability. At this point in the market you'll be able to find homes below 1000 square feet. And, of course, rental plans are always available to turn these properties into income generators whenever you're not around.
Manasota Key still has its fair share of low-rise condos and gated villa communities but it is not as heavily developed as other areas around Venice and Sarasota. In these developments you'll be able to enjoy high-quality amenities, including pools, tennis courts, beach access, private docks, and facility rentals.
In Manasota Key condos, expect to find balconies with amazing views, cool fans over spacious living spaces, ample guest rooms, large showers and luxurious soaking tubs.
The Manasota Key real estate market truly offers an excellent range of properties, from quaint cottages, to palatial estates, all on one of the Gulf Coast's quieter islands, with many quiet and scenic beaches.

Manasota Key Area & Amenities
Manasota Key is a barrier island extending from Venice at its north end, for roughly 12 miles south until its end point at Stump Pass inlet.
The northern part of the island is accessed via Manasota Beach Road, intersecting with Manasota Key Road at Manosta Key Beach. This portion of the island is narrow, and almost exclusively residential, with many large properties extending the entire width of the island.
Halfway down the island, Blind Pass Park offers residents and visitors extensive trails, a playground, pavilion, and lush coastal forest. Moving into the southern part of the island, the area becomes more densely built, with small condo and villa developments, as well as numerous businesses.
At the confluence of Beach Road and Gulf Boulevard, the main road diverts towards the mainland, providing the next main point of entry onto the Key. Downtown Venice is only 30 minutes away from this point - meaning that all the convenience and fine shopping are only a short drive north.
The southernmost point of the island is dedicated to Stump Pass Park and the Lemon Bay Aquatic Preserve. The keys and waterways of this park are excellent for exploring by paddle-board or a small boat.
Manasota Key has four main beaches, from north to south they are:
- Manasota Beach
- Blind Pass Beach State Park
- Englewood Beach
- Stump Pass Beach State Park
Manasota Key's inner shores surround the beautiful Lemon Bay Estuary. Here you can see some of the area's native wildlife, including dolphins and manatees.
Manasota Key Community Information
With an abundance of azure Gulf waters, the island and its inhabitants have an unmistakable sense of tropical luxury in daily life. Waterfront dining with fresh coastal cuisine just around the corner make quiet evenings out possible without straying off of the beach. There are far more private palm tree-shaded spots on the beach than residents so finding a place to pull up a beach chair is always effortless.
