The VFW was founded over 100 years ago and has donated many millions of volunteer hours, been a strong supporter of our country’s youth, been a major supporter of patriotic and educational efforts and been an unwavering advocate to our military, its veterans, and their families. VFW programs make a great impact on the lives of those they serve and honor.

In 1996, the VFW Foundation was established as a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization.

The VFW Foundation’s mission: “support programs to increase awareness of the sacrifices of America’s veterans; promote citizenship education, volunteerism and positive youth programs; and facilitate medical, rehabilitative, educational and employment services and needs for veterans and their families.”
