There may be no snow in Venice, but that doesn’t stop the city from celebrating the Christmas season.
Venice is known for its outstanding Christmas markets, festivals, and events that take place throughout December, bringing the community together with music, treats, and Christmas joy.

Venice Christmas Walk
When: December 5th, 2019
Where: Downtown Venice
The Venice Christmas Walk is a great holiday event that transforms downtown Venice into a winter wonderland. But, instead of Christmas trees, there are palm trees.
All of the palm trees that line historic downtown Venice are lit up with Christmas lights, bringing cheer to the city streets.
Alongside the festive lights, you can enjoy live entertainment and light refreshments and treats in the stores along the avenues. There’s no better time to do your Christmas shopping than now!

Venice Christmas Boat Parade
When: December 7th, 2019
Where: Venice Waterways
The Venice Christmas Boat Parade is the most anticipated holiday event of the year!
This is when boaters across Venice decorate their boats with Christmas displays and lights to show to all viewers along the shoreline.
Since this parade goes through the intracoastal waterways, it’s one of the most visible parades in the city.
The best place to view this parade is at the Venetian Waterway Park, where you can set up lawn chairs and picnic blankets.
Waterfront restaurants are excellent places to view the parade while enjoying a meal and drink. These restaurants fill up fast, so be sure to reserve a spot!

Christmas Craft Fair
When: 9am -3pm, December 7th, 2019
Where: Good Shepherd Epicopal Church
This Venice Christmas market is a great place to support local artists and artisans. They’re displaying their hand-made goods at this Christmas Craft Fair.
You can find anything from crafts to ornaments to baked goods.
This is a fantastic place to visit if you’re looking for stocking stuffers and Christmas presents.

A Christmas Carol
When: December 13th - 21st, 2019
Where: Venice Theater
Head to the Venice Theater this Christmas season to watch a live performance of A Christmas Carol.
This is their 20th year performing this amazing musical adaption.
Because it’s so popular, make sure to book your tickets in advance!
December 13th is the kick-off night, but shows will be playing until the 21st of December.

The Nutcracker
When: December 14th - 15th, 2019
Where: Venice Performing Arts Center
For two nights only, the Venice Performing Arts Center is hosting the Sarasota Cuban Ballet School and the Venice Symphony for the classical performance of The Nutcracker.
This performance is a Christmas classic, so you don’t want to miss it. It’s sure to get you into the holiday spirit.

This December, Venice Theater presents the Ditchfield Family Singers in the performance of The Sounds of Christmas.
