Sarasota County which includes Venice, Florida was highlighted by Portfolio.com as being the most popular retirement destination in the United States. Retirees are seeking out Venice Florida because of its wonderful beaches, golf courses, waterfront dining, quality medical care systems, sub-tropical climate and the general walk-ability of the downtown area.
Retirement is a hot topic as over 3 million Americans will reach age 65 in 2011. Many retirees have held off selecting their final residence due to economic conditions and there is a pent up demand. Affordable prices and low interest rates have made this the time to buy.
