Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix 2011 is Coming

The 2011 Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix is coming back to town with all the heart pounding excitement from Super Class Powerboat racing to bikini contests. The events occur in Sarasota, just 20 minutes north of Venice, Florida. Events begin on Saturday, June 25 and continue daily until the Monday July 4, 2011. The weeks worth of events benefit the Suncoast Charities for Children. From the Kick-off Party to the Awards Ceremony, the week promises non-stop excitement. Some of the highlights include the Festival Parade of Boats on Main Street in Downtown Sarasota starting at 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 30, 2011 and the Powerboats By The Bay. This gives the public the opportunity to see Powerboats on display up close and personal. Powerboats By The Bay will be held at Centennial Park on 10th Street in Sarasota on Friday, July 1, 2011 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.
The favorite of the events is the Annual Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix Boat Race held on Sunday, July 3, 2011. This event will take your breath away and have your heart pounding right out of your chest. Whether you choose to watch from one of the local beaches such as Lido Beach or from your personal boat in the spectator area, this is one incredible race. Super Powerboats scream through the water at high speeds trying to edge out each other to the finish line while being trailed by low flying helicopters.
