Shark's Tooth Festival 2011 - Venice, Florida

Venice, Florida will host its 19th Annual Shark’s Tooth Festival from April 8 through the 10th, 2011.  The event is a benefit for Special Olympics of Sarasota County.  Venice, Florida is known as the Shark’s Tooth Capital of the World and tourists and locals can find their own fossilized teeth along the waterlines of our beautiful beaches.

The Shark’s Tooth Festival is a terrific event which has something for all ages.   Over 100 artists will feature their talents for viewing and purchase, food, rock climbing walls, rides, food, educational booths, wildlife exhibits, live entertainment, and the Mote Marine live touch tank where children can touch and experience marine life.  Most importantly, fossil vendors from throughout the region will display fossils and fossilized sharks teeth by the thousands.  Teeth exceeding 6 inches will be on display and you can purchase everything from a shark’s tooth necklace to an entire shark jaw.

The festival hours will be Friday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm,  Saturday 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, and Sunday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.   This is Venice, Florida’s signature event and you don’t want to miss it.
