Region’s Pending Home Sales Rise

Southwest Florida which includes Venice, Florida continues to experience a sharp increase in pending home sales which reached a 6-year high. Sarasota Association of Realtors has reported its third month of more than 1,000 pending sales. Nationally, there was a 5.1 percent rise in home sales last month. The South doubled that rise with a whopping 10.3 percent increase. Pending sales have not been at this level since buyers scrambled to qualify for the final month of the $8,000 federal home-buying tax credit.
