Legacy Trail Pedestrian Overpass

Construction of the Legacy Trail Pedestrian Overpass over Business US 41 Bypass will begin on November 29, 2010. The 3.1 million dollar project is expected to be completed by Summer of 2011. During construction, the Legacy Trail will be closed from the Venice Train Depot to Colonia Lane in Nokomis. Temporary lane closures will impact motorists including a shift of traffic lanes while beams are set over roadways. This cooperative project between Sarasota County and the Florida Department of Transportation will result in a 12 foot wide path over US 41 in Venice Florida. Completion of this project will culminate in the connection of the East and West side Legacy Trail.
