Hurricane Free Season in Venice Florida

Posted by Tracy Jones on Thursday, December 2nd, 2010 at 2:53pm.

Venice Florida experienced balmy breezes, tropical sunshine and beautiful sunsets in 2010.  This marks the fifth consecutive year that Florida was spared a major hurricane.  There were 19 named storms in the Atlantic, 12 of which became named hurricanes but none hit Florida.  Haiti, Mexico and other locations were not so lucky.  North Carolina’s Outer Banks suffered flooding as did Texas which also suffered seven deaths due to hurricane flooding.

Here in Venice Florida, we went to the beach!
