Real Estate Agents strongly recommend that home buyers have a home inspection  when purchasing a home.  The most thorough home inspection can not predict the future.  Mechanical and electrical items sometimes break weeks, months, or years after you have closed on your home.  That is just a fact of life.  Educated homeowners call licensed contractors who specialize in the issue at hand.  You call a trained professional and tend to rely on their recommendation.  Air conditioning systems are the perfect example.  In Florida, the heat and humidity makes air conditioning sales and service a big business but not all companies have the same business ethics.  If your contractor suggests an expensive home repair, always get a second opinion.

Recently, I have had two past customers share their experiences.  The first, had an air conditioning problem and called a local licensed company.  The AC company told them they had a bad blower and wanted to charge them $2,500 for the repair.  I suggested they call Global Air for a second opinion and they did.  The trained technician diagnosed the problem which ended up costing only $300. for the complete repair.  Global Air has a reputation of good business ethics and will only replace units that truly require it.
