Little Gasparilla is separated from Gasparilla Island to the south by Gasparilla Pass. And beyond Gasparilla Sound is the large Cape Haze Aquatic Preserve and mouth to Charlotte Harbor.

Little Gasparilla is separated from Placida by Placida Harbor, which can be traversed by private boat or water taxi. Residents at Little Gasparilla make frequent trips to Placida to buy groceries, enjoy its many services and restaurants, and to visit its parks, marinas, or the Coral Creek Golf Club.
