Virtual Realty is a Reality in Real Estate

Posted by Tracy Jones on Friday, August 26th, 2016 at 1:58pm.

Virtual Reality has been around for years in different forms.  When your children play video games like Call of Duty, they are using a form of virtual reality.  Savvy Realtors are now using Virtual Reality to solve problems and increase sales.  One issue this cutting edge technology has solved is the issue of long distance buyers being afraid to make purchase commitments because they can not wrap their heads around the floor plan.

The Realtors at Gulf Shores Realty have solved this issue using the Matterport products and software.  Gulf Shores Realty uses the term 3D Showcase Tour to differentiate it from a traditional virtual tour.  A 3D Showcase Tour allows the user to walk in the front door, through the living room and into the kitchen.  While in the kitchen, you can walk around the island, look out the window at the pool and back yard, glance down at the tile, up at the ceiling and take a stroll into the owner’s suite.  There is no limit, no agenda, and no time line.  The user is in total control.  The Buyer can fully experience the floor plan, see the furnished interior and experience the home as if they were actually there.  The Buyer sees both images and depth.

In addition, the Buyer has the option to switch to a Floorplan View and look down into the home as if someone lifted the roof off the home.  The Dollhouse View presents the home as a full 3D model that can be turned to view the home from any direction.  “We are finding that our customers spend dramatically more time viewing homes with 3D Showcase Tours than those without,” stated Wayne Welsh, Broker-Owner of Gulf Shores Realty.

Incredibly, Gulf Shores Realty does not charge extra for this service.  View additional 3D Showcase Tours at http://gulfshoresrealty.com/3d-showcase.php
