Well, 2019 is nearly in the books.
Let's take a closer look at how the local Sarasota County real estate market fared in the past year, as we start to look forward to a happy and prosperous 2020!
Please check out the full info-graphic below, but the short answer is that things are looking pretty great in our little corner of Southwest Florida, as it compares to the rest of the nation. Median home prices are up and are forecasted to continue their upward trajectory into the next five years. Home inventory also went up 7% compared to last year.
The economy in general has also seen marked improvements: in total employment, median household income, unemployment rates and even affordability.
A few key stats to look out for:
- Median home price in Sarasota County: $307,537
- Projected appreciation over the next 5 years: 24.11%, which equals approximately $74.152
- Sarasota County unemployment: 3.33%, down from 4.54% in 2016
- Median household income: $65,362, compared to a national average of $61.937
